Divya was 11 years old when her parents died. During this heart wrenching season, she considers herself fortunate that an aunt embraced her and her five siblings. But soon after things became difficult for her aunt, “Fortunately, our aunt admitted us to Mukti Mission when she could no longer care for us,” Divya says, adding that this was, “a blessing.”
Now a successful adult, Divya explains in detail what this blessing looked like for her in getting an education: “It granted me the opportunity to attend school, which I have not before. I went on to attend both the high school and junior college, which paved the way for me to pursue a degree in commerce and later a Master of Social Work.”
“I came to Mukti Mission as a blank, forgotten page; and today, this page has beautiful memories etched on it,” Dviya observes.
Today, she reflects on the lives of many children who haven’t been as fortunate as she was. “I pray that the love, care and knowledge I have received at Mukti reaches many others like me who were once without a hope,” Divya concludes
